OSRS Best Bosses to Farm Gold

In this article, I will introduce you to the best bosses for farming OSRS Gold in the old school Runescape.

Zulrah

Known as one of the early profitable bosses in OSRS, Zulrah cannot be approached without completing the Regicide quest. There are a total of 4 phases you need to battle through.

You’ll need a good setup where both, your Ranged and Magic are involved. A quick way to defeat Zulrah is using a Twisted Bow with a ‘full range’ attack style to lower the costs. You can expect about 3M per hour on fighting Zulrah.

Zalcano

To face Zalcano, you need to first complete the Song of Elves quest to know its location. Zalcano is a skilling boss approached to train, Rune Crafting, Smithing, and Mining. If you’re already capped at level 99, we suggest you grab a Crystal Pickaxe for better expectations during the battle.

Grab Crystal Shards, convert them into Divine Potions, or simply use them on Crystal Keys to open the Enchanted Crystal Chest. You can make a good amount of OSRS GP this way, and there’s even a chance to obtain the Dragonstone Armor which sits at 5M GP. You can make about 162k farming here.

Alchemical Hydra

Similar to Abyssal Sire, Alchemical Hydra has a slayer requirement of level 95. Also, you can only fight the boss on a Hydra Slayer task (Konar Slayer Master). Keep your Twisted Bow close because it’s your best friend here too. Alternatively, you can opt for a Toxic Blowpipe.

Hydra drops segments of the two best-in-slow items that everyone wants at some point in the game. You need to look out for the following two, Hydra’s Claw and Hydra Leather.

You can use Hydra’s Claws on a Zamorakian Hasta to make Dragon Hunter Lance. Similarly, you can use Hydra Leather on the Lithkren Vault pool to eventually make Ferocious Gloves. You can make about 150k per hour here.

Kree’arra

There’s a good way to increase your kill count and gold per hour when it comes to Kree’arra. It involves the usage of Blood Barrage (spell) and Black Chins. They are incredible if you approach the boss alone.

Yes, it’s a costly method, but with the increase in kills per hour, the profit that you earn will pretty much cover the purchases. You can get about 269k per kill with an opportunity to defeat it 20 times per run/hour. The best items to look out for are Armadyl Chain Skirt and Armadyl Chest Plate, which stand at around 34M and 41M, respectively.

Vorkath

Vorkath is very profitable in terms of making money, but the requirements are a bit hefty. You need high combat stats to complete Dragon Slayer 2, along with the child quests required to start it in the first place.

The objective is to increase the profit per hour. Keep that in mind and bring a Dragon Hunter Crossbow or Lance with you to increase the rate. The reason is that both weapons have high damage and accuracy bonuses against Vorkath.

There’s a challenging part that occurs during the fight. It’s the poison segment, which you have to look out for no matter what. Make sure you run around a lot and avoid attacks.

You can make about 135k with each skill, and also get about 30 kills per hour with the right strategy and equipment. One of its notable drops from the table is the Onyx Bolt Tips that range from 40 to 245M, depending on which non-patient player wants them. There’s also Skeletal Visage which stands at around 31M.

The Nightmare of Ashihama

Nightmare of Ashihama is a massive money-maker for many players in OSRS. This being slumbers people into a nightmare, sucking off their life force. You can find Ashihama in Morytania’s Sisterhood Sanctuary.

You can think of it as a mini-raid boss that up to 80 players at a time can take on. However, it’s best to face the boss with a team of 4 to maximize the profit distribution.

You can fetch a high price for the items she drops. For instance, Inquisitor’s Mace costs about 500M, the armor pieces are between 120 to 190M. And hey, the most valuable item, the Harmonized Orb costs 840M!

Abyssal Sire

Abyssal Sire requires a level of 85 Slayer to defeat. They have been known as the engineers of Abyss since the God Wars. Because they didn’t have anywhere to escape, they decided to build a Nexus.

You can find Abyssal Sires south of the Rune Crafting Abyss. You have to use the Fairy Ring to get to them. Alternatively, you can take a long way around (if you don’t have access to the Fairy Ring). Make sure you have an Abyssal Bracelet on you because the area drains your Prayer Points.

During the first phase, kill the 4 respiratory organs on the sides of the room. This is to prevent the boss from healing itself. In the second phase, the Sire will summon Spawn and begin engaging in Melee combat. These spawns create poisonous pools on the ground so make sure to kill or avoid them. In the final phase, the Abyssal Sire will throw Miasma Pools throughout the platform, which again, you have to avoid. Also, at 33% health, it’ll use a high-damage attack which can KO you if your health is low.

Being one of the best bosses to farm for Runescape Gold, you need to look out for their Un-Sired item drop. You can use it behind the overseer, right at the Font of Consumption for a chance to obtain one of the following: Abyssal Whip, Abyssal Dagger, Abyssal Head, Jar of Miasma, or other tradable like Axon, Claw, or Spine.

Conclusion

So, that’s the end of the guide. We hope you make the best use of it to make money. Make sure you don’t get your character killed to maximize the number of kills each trip (which often happens). Good luck!
